My Journey
How I Got Here
Graduated from Dalhousie University with a degree in philosophy, but I felt unsatisfied with my education overall. The question of what it means to be educated would continue to shape my path to the present day.
First learned about homeschooling and was immediately captivated by its potential. I saw the possibility of education that was personalized, meaningful, and paced appropriately to foster deep understanding and connections — everything I felt had been missing from my own experience.
Began to put my philosophy into practice by homeschooling my own children (born in 2012 and 2015). These years provided firsthand experience with the challenges and rewards of personalized education.
During the pandemic I began tutoring online. I discovered that I loved making materials and finding ways to break down complex ideas step-by-step so students would build a solid understanding.
Enrolled in the Masters of Education in Open, Digital, and Distance Education program at Athabasca University. Also co-founded Knowable World, designing history curriculum for homeschoolers.
Completed MEd coursework and currently working on a research-based thesis to deepen understanding of effective home education approaches.
My mission is to help make it easy for parents to give their children a high-quality academic education from home. I'm passionate about working with subject-matter experts to create engaging and effective learning materials.
